It is quite an exciting time in life right now. My husband Mikey and I are so thrilled to be welcoming a new addition to our family this summer, a baby boy due in early July! I feel so lucky to have been given this special gift, and cannot wait to meet him.
I am also quite thankful that Mikey and I were able to choose the timing of our little guy. When I was younger, I never really thought too much into how age would factor into motherhood. I always assumed that I would have children when I was ready, and was determined to not put any time restrictions on myself.
So, here I find myself at 35, about to have my first child. Mikey and have had almost 9 years together, with 4 and 1/2 years of marriage to ourselves, and we are ready to begin our family. We have had a huge supportive response to our news. And I feel lucky that we get to choose the time in our lives that was right for our family to begin.
We will love to you to the moon and back, and cannot wait to meet you. Here are some pictures my husband snapped for us while we were up in Sechelt, a place very special to both of us, and somewhere our son(!) will grow up visiting. We took these photos on Valentine's Day when I was 19 weeks and a few days - just around halfway there! The first set in the blue cape were for a gender reveal picture, and I got to re-wear my wedding dress!
